The lemniscate occurs in the tarot, in the Magician, which is also called the juggler. His hat has the shape of a lemniscate: the eternal principle. This indicates that he is connected with divine powers through his creative activities. It is a symbol for the balance between the material and the spiritual.
The lemniscate is also the symbol in mathematics to indicate infinite. As an example a division by zero yields an infinite number which we then indicate with this symbol.
